How do I change setting 28 between single/parallel ?
-Switch the inverter on so that the LCD screen is active.
-Switch the inverter off and quickly enter the menu by holding the enter key. The screen stays active for a few seconds after the inverter was switched off.
-Go to setting 28 and change as desired.
-Press enter and exit the menu.
-Switch the inverter off and on again.
-Confirm that the setting was changed as desired.
I receive a code 04 error message?
-Code 04 error is generated when the battery voltage is less than 1V from the battery cut off voltage setting.
-Confirm that solar and/or utility supply is active/available to charge the batteries.
The inverter is only using Utility power and not solar/batteries
-Confirm that setting 01 is set to SBU
-Confirm that setting 16 is set to SnU
Can the inverter be installed outside?
-No, the inverter must be kept dry and dust free. No direct sunlight either.
Can you repair inverters?
-Yes, we have a team of excellent technicians that can do repairs on our products. We also keep spare parts on most of the stock in order to assist warranty claims and out-of-warranty repairs.
Can I use my inverter without batteries?
-We have various inverter models to choose from. The Victor 5kVA/5KW inverter can be used without batteries.
-During the day time, it can use power directly from solar panels and automatically switch over to utility power during night time. This will allow cost savings over time.
-Batteries can then be added at a later stage.
What is meant with parallel inverters?
-Inverters that has parallel functionality can be set up in multiple configurations to increase the power output which is all synchronized.
-Single phase parallel setup: 5KVA + 5KVA = 10kVA synchronous single phase power supply. Can be linked up to total of 45kVA! Hence, one can start off with a single inverter and add additional units later when the need arise.
-Three phase parallel setup: Three inverters connected to supply a three phase power supply. Multiples of 3 inverters can be added to increase the three phase capacity to maximum of 15 kVA per phase.
At what angle and direction should my solar panels be mounted?
-In South Africa, the optimal angle for a fixed installation is between 28° and 30°. This will allow optimal power collection from the sun during most months of the year.
-Solar panels facing north will be able to harness solar power during the morning and afternoon. For homes with roofs facing East/West, two separate charge controllers is required which is connected to the batteries (alternatively, two inverters connected in parallel with each solar bank connected to an inverter).
I am receiving less power from my solar panel than its rated power?
-The output of a solar panel is affected by the angle at which it is mounted, temperature, sunlight intensity (Irradiance), panel age and other factors.
-Confirm the panels is mounted at a angle between 28° and 30°.
-Confirm the panels is facing north.
-Confirm no shadows is cast on the panels (palm trees, satellite dish, chimney, etc).
-Confirm the panels is clean (dust free, bird droppings, etc).
-Check that all the connectors is properly crimped and no water is present.
-Solar panels usually give between 85% to 95% of its rated power. This all depends on various factors as mentioned above.
My LiFePO4 battery is not switching on when the circuit breaker is on?
-The battery BMS goes into sleep mode if the battery is not used for an extended time period.
-To wake the BMS, press and hold the reset button for 3 seconds until the lights on the front of the battery is flickering.
My battery is not charging full?
Can the Lithium battery be used without communication cables?
-Our lithium battery (LiFePO4) can be used as a regular 48V battery bank without communication cables.
-Please ensure the inverter settings is set properly to give the correct charge currents, charge voltage and cut-off voltage.
-The communication cables can be used to monitor data from the battery using a pc or laptop (Voltages, capacity, no of cycles, alarms, faults, etc).
What is the difference between low pressure and high pressure geysers?
-Municipal water supply is usually between 1bar and 5bar (depending on location and time of day).
-High pressure solar geysers can be connected directly to a high pressure water supply such as municipal water supply without a pressure reducing valve. This will allow integration to an existing plumbing system. Hot water supply at the taps or shower head will be similar to the cold water pressure and will allow higher flow rates.
-Low pressure solar geysers is open to atmosphere, hence the hot water pressure will be equal to the static water head (height of which geyser is mounted). The low pressure solar geyser can be used on municipal water supply if a pressure reducing valve is used on the cold water supply to the plumbing system (this will allow mixer taps and showers to have balanced water pressure between hot and cold water).
My geyser is installed and the water is not heating up properly?
-Confirm that the geyser is facing north (glass tubes).
-Confirm that no objects is casting shadows on the geyser (palm trees, satellite dish, chimney, etc).
-Allow between 4 to 6 hours for the water to heat up during the day. Take note: For each liter of hot water removed, a liter of cold water is added to the geyser, bringing down the water temperature. Ensure the geyser size is adequate for the family hot water consumption.
At what angle should my solar geyser or manifold be mounted?
-The solar geyser comes with a frame which is at an optimal angle. The frame can be mounted on a flat roof or on a pitched roof. For pitched roofs, the geyser is mounted on the top, over the ridge so that the geyser frame (front and back) is on both sides of the roof sides (glass tubes facing north).
-For manifolds (retrofit kits), the tubes can be mounted on a flat roof or a pitched roof. Angles can be between 0° and 30° with the tubes facing north.
Can I convert my existing geyser to a solar geyser?
-Yes, we offer retrofit manifold kits. The kits include class tubes, a manifold for the glass tubes, 10W solar panel and 12V circulation pump.
-All that is required is some plumbing supplies (pipe, non-return valves, fittings, insulation) to connect the manifold which is mounted on a roof to the existing geyser.
-When the sun comes up, the 10W solar panel will power the 12V pump which will circulate water from the existing geyser to the manifold and back. The water from the manifold is heated by the sunlight via the glass tubes
Why use solar glass vacuum tubes for solar geyser?
-The solar glass tubes has a vacuum lining which allows sunlight to pass through and get adsorb by the tube. Water can then be heated up.
-During winter months, outside temperatures is much lower than the geyser water temperatures. This causes heat loss. With a vacuum lining, heat loss is minimized which allows the geyser to still be efficient during winter months and prevents water from freezing in the pipes.
